Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ATNM) says it has completed the acquisition of myNEXUS Inc., a home care nursing management company. Anthem purchased the Tennessee company from a healthcare private equity firm.

Anthem says myNEXUS manages pre-authorizations and benefits of home care for approximately 1.7 million Medicare Advantage members across 20 states.

“The addition of myNEXUS fits with Anthem’s strategy to deliver whole-person care and offer a seamless end to end experience that will help improve outcomes, reduce readmissions and improve members’ and their family’s experience of wellbeing,” said Prakash Patel, M.D., Anthem executive vice president.

Anthem says the myNEXUS platform helps to automate the home visit authorization process, speed time to care, and increase provider effectiveness.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
