Another Med School Partners on Lilly Rotation Program
Lilly last month detailed plans to invest $850 million into its U.S. operations this year.

Four colleges are involved in the three-year-old initiative, including the most recent partner, the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. The program involves hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry for third and fourth-year med students.
It lasts four weeks and covers topics including business activities, drug discovery, drug development, bioethics and patient safety. The program also includes networking opportunities with leaders of the company. Mentors at Lilly will help students explore drug development and health care career options.
Lilly U.S. Medical team Director of External Relations Yolanda Johnson-Moton calls the program a comprehensive educational experience and says "as the many facets of healthcare become increasingly interdependent, it will be important for practitioners to have a good working knowledge of the scientific and medical phases of drug development. By providing a holistic view of our company and its operations, we aim to provide students with valuable insights into the complexity and collaboration involved in moving a concept from the bench to market, including the valuable role that physicians play in this process."
The other colleges involved with the program are the Indiana University School of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine and Washington University School of Medicine.
