The Elkhart City Council could grant final approval tonight for an initial group of properties being targeted for annexation. Mayor Dick Moore has spearheaded efforts that include more than a dozen properties. The Elkhart Truth reports the first phase involves four properties.

The publication says the annexation proposals so far have not “not ignited much interest.”
