Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette has appointed Andrea Schwartz dean of the Technology Division. She will serve as principal academic and administrative leader of the division, responsible for curriculum, program and instructional quality, student academic success and other academic matters. Schwartz will identify opportunities for alignment to current and future workforce needs in the Lafayette campus service area.

Schwartz holds a master of science in agriculture and extension education and a bachelor of science in agriculture education from Purdue University. Before being named as dean, she served Ivy Tech as chair and assistant professor of the Agriculture Program. Schwartz has further enhanced the college’s ties to the Indiana FFA Association, co-hosting the state convention with Purdue.

She has also served as a graduate assistant at Purdue University, and agriculture science and business educator for West Central School Corp. and Cloverdale Community School Corp.
