Today AND Tomorrow: The Sesquicentennial Mural
Local artists will recreate a large-scale version of the sesquicentennial logo on a downtown building. A fitting tribute to the City’s 150th birthday!

FlipFlops AND Formals: The Sesquicentennial Gala
Hosted by Mayor Kevin Smith and his wife Anita, this first-class dinner and dance will feature good food and good times with a historical twist.
Sunday, August 23 Dickmann Town Center Park/Paramount Theatre
Artistry AND Imagination: Community Arts Collaboration
Anderson has a rich history in the arts and a vibrant current-day scene. Arts organization from all over the city band together to celebrate local talent and creativity downtown.

Service AND Saplings: City-wide Tree Planting Project
Volunteers will gather to plant 150 trees at designated locations.
Anderson is a many-time Tree City USA honoree. Varieties planted will grow into beautiful, longstanding reminders of the sesquicentennial.

Legends AND Lunch: Legends of Anderson Luncheon
Anderson's past sparkles with residents who have gained national – even worldwide – fame. The Legends Luncheon, a collaboration among local service organizations, will honor their legacy and rekindle the tales of their many accomplishments.
Wednesday, August 26 Jackson Park
Picnic AND Praise: Anderson Sings
The inspirational sounds of gospel music will lift spirits when church choirs and other gospel artists from across the city gather at Jackson Park to give voice to Anderson's soaring spirit.

Thrills AND Chills: A Hoosier Park Celebration
No one hosts a party like Hoosier Park Racing & Casino, which will welcome visitors with music, fun and games for a full evening of celebration.
Friday, August 28 Dickmann Town Center Park
Honor AND Celebrate: Anderson 150th Birthday Bash
A giant birthday cake, fireworks and an Anderson High School football game. Together with a live band and loads of other fun, the Birthday Bash will conclude the official week of sesquicentennial celebrations with a bang!
