Officials will cut the ribbon on the space, located inside the casino’s pavilion area, which was developed following the passage of the 2015 law allowing Indiana casinos to move onto land.
The casino says the 15,000-square-foot space includes 95 slot machines, 14 table games, two food stations and a full bar. The Indiana Gaming Commission approved plans to move the games to land in November.
The ribbon cutting comes as Ameristar continues a $15 million renovation of its four-level riverboat casino. Work on that project is expected to be complete in October. As part of the renovations, the casino will also move 21 additional table games to the pavilion between July 16 and August 3 when that part of the riverboat is being upgraded.
