New President at Indiana American Water

New Jersey-based American Water (NYSE: AWK) has named Deborah Dewey president of Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water. Dewey succeeds Deron Allen, who served in the role for less than a year.
Dewey joined Indiana American Water as vice president of operations in February 2015. In her new role, the utility says Dewey will work to strengthen customer, regulatory and local government relationships while driving operational and financial results.
"We are pleased that Deborah will take on this new role at American Water," said Walter Lynch, chief operating officer of American Water. "She brings more than 30 years of experience and knowledge to this position with executive level experience in the manufacturing, service and utility fields. I look forward to the leadership she will bring to Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water."
Dewey began her new role on Monday. The utility said Allen had decided to leave American Water; he took on the role in November after serving as president of Tennessee American Water.
