American Water has named Deron Allen president of Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water. He is replacing Alan DeBoy, who is taking on a new role with American Water as vice president of operations excellence.

Allen most recently served as the president of Tennessee American Water. He has also served as vice president of operations for Indiana American Water. Allen is a native of Richmond.

“We are pleased to see Deron come back to his home state to lead Indiana American Water,” said Walter Lynch, president and chief operating officer of American Water’s regulated operations. “He has nearly 30 years of experience and a tremendous knowledge of the water utility industry. He also has a passion for community service and I look forward to the leadership he will bring to Indiana American Water and Michigan American Water.”

Allen will begin his new role on November 11.
