American Containers Expanding

Plymouth-based American Containers Inc. is announcing its third expansion in four years. The company plans to invest nearly $1.2 million into new equipment to increase production and create a small number of jobs.
The expansion is part of a seven-year personal property tax abatement approved Monday by the Plymouth Common Council. The expansion includes two projects: renovating machinery used in their small box food service production and a new automated assembly process to expand corrugated honeycomb products. The automated machinery is expected to quintuple the output from one unit to five.
The expansion will also add two new full-time positions, which will bring the total to 63 employees. American Containers announced in September 2017 it was investing $550,000 in facility upgrades at the Plymouth site.
