A bill aimed at boosting the state's ailing casino industry is set for a final vote today in the Indiana House. House Bill 1540 would allow riverboat casinos the option to move on-shore and would also permit live dealers at Indiana's two racinos in Anderson and Shelbyville. An amendment proposed by Representative Tim Brown (R-41) initially stripped out those provisions. A different amendment from Sean Eberhart (R-57) put them back in.

Amendments altering tax distributions, however, were approved. Our partners at Network Indiana/WIBC report that tax provision as originally proposed would've cost local governments $200 million.
