Australia-based packaging company Amcor has completed its acquisition of Wisconsin-headquartered Bemis Company Inc. Our partners at WTHI-TV report the company’s Terre Haute plant will be among 250 locations involved in the merger.
The combined company will now operate as Amcor Plc, trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “AMCR.”
The companies first announced Amcor would acquire Bemis in an all-stock combination in 2017.
“The acquisition of Bemis brings additional scale, capabilities and footprint that will strengthen Amcor’s industry leading value proposition and generate significant value for shareholders.” Amcor Chief Executive Officer Ron Delia told the station. “We are delighted to welcome our new employees, customers and shareholders. This is the first day of an exciting and even stronger future for Amcor and all of our stakeholders.”
