Texas-based Global Medical Response Inc. has reached a multi-year agreement to become the title sponsor of the IndyCar Grand Prix in May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The deal is part of a season-long salute to first responders, according to the Speedway.
GMR is a national ground and air medical transportation company, which already provides ambulance service at many of the races, including the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400.
“Our AMR business is a national EMS leader with expertise in many aspects of emergency services, both air and ground and in event medical services for the racing industry,” said Randy Owen, president and chief executive officer of Global Medical Response. “We are pleased to be expanding and furthering our involvement with this agreement.”
The GMR Grand Prix is scheduled for May 9 on the road course at IMS. It’s the fifth race of the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season.
In addition to the sponsorship, GMR, IMS, INDYCAR will collaborate during NTT IndyCar Series events to raise awareness and salute the work performed by first responders across North America.
