Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) is planning to hire thousands of seasonal workers across the country, including 3,000 in Indiana. The e-commerce giant is filling the roles in addition to previously-announced plans to hire for more than 40,000 corporate and tech positions, as well as and 125,000 full and part-time transportation openings.

Jobs include stowing, picking, packing, shipping and delivering orders. Amazon says the jobs, including seasonal work, have an average starting pay of $18 per hour with a sign-on bonus up to $3,000 and an extra $3 an hour, depending on the shifts.

The new roles are in addition to the 3,000 full and part-time roles announced in September.

“We are proud to be offering a huge range of full-time, part-time, and now seasonal jobs with great pay and benefits,” Alicia Boler Davis, senior vice president of global customer fulfillment, said in a news release. “Our seasonal hiring helps us deliver on our promises to customers while also providing flexibility to our full-time employees during busy periods.”
