AM General Opens Michigan Tech Center

South Bend-based AM General LLC is celebrating the opening of a Technology and Engineering Center in Michigan. The specialized vehicle manufacturer says the more than 175,000-square-foot facility signifies its continued commitment to growth and innovation.
The TEC serves as an "ideation hub" that AM General Chief Operating Officer Steve Zink says will not only improve the company’s day-to-day business, but also provide the flexibility to bring in its partners to discuss current and future technologies. The company did not provide details of its financial investment in the facility.
The facility features more than 74,000 square feet of office and meeting space. It also boasts an additional 102,000 square feet that includes a full-service workshop for fast prototyping, testing and quality control, plus a dedicated showroom for current and concept vehicle displays.
AM General has already hosted several groups at the facility, including the Michigan Military Coalition and the Michigan Automotive & Defense Cyber Awareness Team.
