AM General Lands Military Contract Boost

The U.S. Department of Defense has increased a contract with South Bend-based AM General LLC. The $10.4 million boost involves the production of Humvees for the Iraqi military.
The work will be performed in Mishawaka and is expected to be complete on July 29. Last July, the DOD announced the original deal, a nearly $373 million contract that involves more 2,000 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles and parts for the governments of Afghanistan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Ukraine and Tunisia.
AM General has been awarded several boosts to the original contract, the most recent of which was a nearly $25 million boost in January. The Army Contracting Command in Warren, Michigan is the contracting activity.
