Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission has appointed Scott Mell as its new chief financial officer and treasurer. Mell most recently served as CFO of Michigan-based manufacturer TriMas Corporation.
Mell succeeds Fred Bohley, who was promoted to chief operating officer for Allison last June, though he remained as CFO until a replacement was named.
Allison said in a news release that Mell has nearly 30 years of strategic and financial leadership experience and will “play a key role in helping to strategically guide Allison through the next phase of our growth and development.”
“I am thrilled to join Allison Transmission and contribute to its continued success,” Mell said in the release. “The company’s innovative solutions and commitment to excellence are truly inspiring. I look forward to working with the global Allison Transmission team to drive financial performance, deliver strategic growth initiatives and enhance shareholder value.”
Mell began his new role on Monday.
Allison Transmission is Indiana’s 18th-largest public company with $3 billion in revenue in 2023, according to IBJ research. The company has 3,500 employees, with 2,800 located in Indiana.
