Allison awarded $51M DOD contract

Subscribe NowThe U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a $51 million contract to Indianapolis-based Allison Transmission Inc. (NYSE: ALSN) for transmission upgrades to the Abrams Main Battle Tank. The Abrams first entered service in 1980 and remains the U.S. Army’s primary tank.
Published reports indicate the Army has 4,400 Abrams tanks.
The DOD says the work will be performed in Indianapolis and is expected to be completed in December 2023.
