Alliance Française Moves HQ to Carmel

Alliance Française Moves HQ to Carmel The new headquarters is located at Pedcor Square in Carmel City Center.

The Indianapolis chapter of the Alliance Française has relocated its headquarters to Carmel. The organization says the new location at Pedcor Square in Carmel City Center is strategic because of the large number members residing in the Hamilton County.

Alliance Française d’Indianapolis says the move will increase its visibility, boost French language programs for high schools in the area and reboot its family and children programs. Some of the programs offered by the organization are weekend language immersion camps and French language and French cooking classes.

"We are looking forward to enriching the city with the French and francophone cultures including art, cinema, music, gastronomy and variety of educational and exchange programs," said Jean Minka, executive director of Alliance Française.

Alliance Française d’Indianapolis was previously located at the International School of Indiana on the north side of Indianapolis. The organization says its partnership with ISI will continue and educational programs such as language classes will take place on both the ISI and Carmel campuses.

Last month, Carmel resident Martin Baier, chief executive officer of The International Center in Indianapolis, was named Honorary French Consul to the State of Indiana. He received the designation from Consul General of France in Chicago Guillaume Lacroix.

Did the Federal Reserve stick the (soft) landing?

When Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell began increasing interest rates in early 2022, few economists predicted a resilient economic response. Nearly two years into the steepest increase in interest rates in over 40 years, can we now say we've achieved a soft landing? Or is this a delayed economic response with a 2024 recession certain to come?...
