Representatives from Greater Fort Wayne Inc. will travel to Greenville, South Carolina to meet with members of the city’s entrepreneurial community, elected officials, and community and business leaders.
GFW says Greenville “provides a shining example of postindustrial revitalization thanks to vision, sustained leadership, collaborative planning, public-private partnerships, and maximizing natural assets.” The organization cites Bloomberg, which says Greenville’s rate of new business startups rivals major cities like Boston.
"Among its many accolades, Greenville was named a top tourist destination in 2018," GFW said in a news release. "The city now enjoys a strong arts-and-culture scene with world-class restaurants and special events. In addition to successful downtown revitalization, which includes housing, riverfront development, and yes, a downtown grocery, Greenville has set its sights on yet another major goal: technology- and knowledge-based startup businesses."
GFW says the trip will provide inspiration and ideas that can be applied in Allen County to keep its economic momentum going strong.
