All GOP Senate Candidates Sign on For Debate

All three Republican candidates seeking to take on incumbent Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN) have agreed to take part in the final statewide televised debate before the May 8 primary. The Indiana Debate Commission will host the April 30 event featuring candidates Mike Braun, Luke Messer and Todd Rokita.
Early last month, the commission said Rokita, who currently represents Indiana’s Fourth Congressional District, initially declined the request to participate.
Commission President Gerry Lanosga says "debate is a great option for Hoosier voters who may be undecided, and we’re pleased that all candidates in this contested GOP primary are now 100 percent invested in this final debate before the May 8 primary. The commission continues to be a non-partisan voice for all Indiana voters by making the debate option available to candidates in statewide and contested races. Opening debates up to Hoosier voters is a significant milestone for Indiana campaigns that started in 2007. That mission – Putting Voters First – has not changed. Voters can continue to be active and involved by submitting their questions to us online."
