Alford to Give Franklin Commencement Address

The commencement ceremony for Franklin College will feature an Indiana basketball legend. Steve Alford, currently the head coach at UCLA, will give the keynote address and receive an honorary doctor of humane letters at the ceremony May 21.
Alford is a New Castle native and former Indiana Mr. Basketball honoree. He went on to play for Indiana University under Bob Knight, where he won an NCAA championship.
Alford began his coaching career at Manchester College, now Manchester University, in 1992. He has also coached for Missouri State University, the University of Iowa and the University of New Mexico, before joining UCLA in 2013 where he has a 65-40 overall record.
Franklin College is requiring tickets to the commencement ceremony in order to ensure seating for the families of graduates.
