Ozark Materials LLC is currently renovating the former Bell Packaging plant in the Grant County city and will initially create 15 jobs with plans to add more as demand increases.
The Grant County Economic Growth Council says Ozark Materials is investing $1.2 million in manufacturing equipment, research and development, logistics and IT. Additional building acquisition and renovation costs are not yet known.
"The City of Marion is perfectly located to allow Ozark to better serve its current and future customers throughout the Northeast and Midwest," said Tomy Gamble, director of finance and administration for Ozark Materials. "In addition, the Indiana WorkOne staff has provided crucial support in finding employees for the facility. We are excited about our continued growth and look forward to being part of the Marion community."
Ozark Materials produces pavement marking materials for roadway applications. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered the company an undisclosed amount of conditional tax credits based on its job creation plans. The city of Marion has offered a nine-year tax abatement for new equipment.
