Indianapolis-based AIT Laboratories has named Kun Ma vice president of science and technology. He most recently served as director of venture analysis at Indiana University Health venture capital fund CHV Capital Inc.

Indianapolis, Ind. — AIT Laboratories (AIT) ​has named Kun Ma, MD, Ph.D., MBA to the position of vice president of science and technology. Dr. Ma comes to the company after most recently serving as director of venture analysis at CHV Capital, Inc., and president and CEO of University of Health Management China, Inc.

Dr. Ma brings to AIT a very unique set of experiences and success in both the healthcare and business sectors. Prior to his most recent roles, Dr. Ma served as research associate at the National Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Genetic Engineering. There he researched biomedical projects in the fields of protein therapeutics and therapeutic RNAs and also worked with regulatory agencies on GLP and GMP compliances. Additionally, Dr. Ma held a business development manager position at Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation where he managed hundreds of technologies and licensing deals and analyzed patentability of those technologies.

His vast involvement in biomedical research, venture capitalism, business development and entrepreneurship are welcome assets as AIT continues to invest in products and services that are sustainable in today's healthcare market.

Dr. Ma received his medical degree from Beijing University Health Science Center, his Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Indiana University School of Medicine and his MBA in marketing and strategy from Washington University Olin School of Business. Dr. Ma currently serves on the board of directors of Indiana Health Industry Forum, a healthcare industry association, and is a management committee member of the Sino-US Diabetes Center, located in Hangzhou, PRC. He is also an active member on the board of advisors for the Indianapolis Chinese Culture Community, Inc. Dr. Ma lives in Indianapolis with his wife and two children.
