The Indianapolis International Airport will unveil details today about new international service. The Airport Authority says tour operator Vacation Express will operate seasonal, nonstop flights to Cancun.

Indianapolis, Ind. — The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is excited to announce a new international nonstop flight to Cancun by way of Vacation Express, set to launch this Sunday, March 15. The seasonal flight will operate every week until August 2, departing from IND on Sundays and returning on Saturdays.

WHO: Vacation Express, one of the country's largest tour operators with more than 25 years of experience, is bringing a new airline to the Indianapolis market. They offer all-inclusive vacation packages with exclusive, nonstop flights from 18 cities as well as most U.S. cities on scheduled airlines to destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico and Costa Rica. For IND flights to Cancun, Vacation Express is partnering with Volaris Airlines out of Mexico.

WHAT: Mario Rodriguez, IAA executive director, and Michele Olson, Vacation Express director of marketing, will discuss the new international flight from IND to Cancun.

Since 2014, this new flight increases the total new airlines and destinations scheduled at IND to 18 – the largest net increase in new air service since 2005.

Vacation Express's new flight from IND to Cancun will launch Sunday, March 15 at 8:40 a.m. Please join us for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the launch of this new international nonstop flight. Media should arrive at IND no later than 7:15 a.m. to be escorted back to the gate.
