News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A rising executive and civic leader with extensive business outreach experience has been selected to lead the Professional Edge Center at the University of Indianapolis.

Corey L. Wilson will begin Dec. 2 as associate vice president overseeing the new UIndy initiative, which helps students and recent graduates launch their careers by linking them with opportunities for mentoring, networking, internships and rewarding careers.

Wilson has served since 2005 with the Indianapolis Airport Authority, most recently in a dual role as director of supplier diversity and director of IND AeroVision, spearheading economic development efforts in the area surrounding Indianapolis International Airport. His previous posts have included constituent relations director for the Lieutenant Governor of Indiana and program manager for the Marion County Health Department.

At UIndy, Wilson will join the senior leadership team in the Department of University Advancement, reporting to Vice President Christopher Molloy.

“Although we had more than 120 applicants for this position, Corey was the clear choice to maximize the impact of this new center for our students,” Molloy said. “He brings the ideal skills and experience to build stronger connections with our alumni in growth industries and with the Indiana business community in general.”

Recognized among the Indianapolis Business Journal's Forty Under 40 for 2013, Wilson is a recipient of the state's Sagamore of the Wabash award and a graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series. He serves as vice chair of the Eskenazi Health Center Board of Directors and is a board member with IndyHub and 100 Black Men of Indianapolis. He also serves on the Steering Committee for the 2014 Spirit and Place Festival and is past chair of the Indiana Black Expo Elected and Appointed Officials Reception.

Wilson holds a bachelor's degree in recreation and sports management from Indiana State University and a master of business administration from Purdue University's Krannert School of Management.
