A Utah-based airline plans to add another Fort Wayne to Chicago flight starting in April. SkyWest Airlines says that will bring its total to four daily, roundtrip flights between Fort Wayne International Airport and Chicago O'Hare. January 8, 2014

News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – SkyWest Airlines is pleased to begin operating an additional roundtrip flight from Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) to Chicago O'Hare (ORD) on April 1, 2014. With this new mid-day option, FWA passengers will have their choice of four, daily roundtrip flights to access United’s global network through Chicago.

“This additional flight means more choices and more convenience for customers flying out of Fort Wayne International Airport,” said Mike Thompson, SkyWest Airlines vice president – Market Development. “Now is a great time to take advantage of the benefits and service you’ll enjoy when you fly local from FWA.”

All four of the daily flights to Chicago have been timed to provide optimum connection opportunities. This means they’re perfect for those planning a short business trip or the traveler who wants to fly to Europe, Asia or around North America! United and United Express carriers offer more flights from Chicago to more destinations around the world than any other airline.

“Travelers using FWA will certainly enjoy the extra capacity and flexibility this flight brings to the ORD market,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports. “United has been an excellent partner, and modifying their schedule to include an additional mid-day trip opens up even greater connectivity to the global transportation network. We look forward to giving our passengers more travel options this spring.”

Customers flying from FWA will also enjoy convenient parking, short lines at the ticket counter and security checkpoint, free Wi-Fi, free shuttle service and baggage assistance, along with friendly and helpful staff.

All SkyWest-operated United Express flights from Fort Wayne to Chicago are onboard the Bombardier-manufactured CRJ200 aircraft. SkyWest Airlines has been named the most reliable CRJ200 operator five times, most recently in 2012.

Flights are available for booking immediately at www.united.com or by calling United reservations at 800.UNITED.1 (800.864.8331). Remember, the best fares are always available at www.united.com.
