A machining shop in Tipton that serves the aerospace industry has announced it will temporarily layoff nearly four dozen workers due to the economic slowdown associated with the pandemic.
Integrity EDM LLC is an OEM manufacturer of electrical discharge machining used in the production of gas turbine components and aircraft parts.
Integrity notified the state of the layoffs of 47 workers, including manufacturing, maintenance and operations positions.
The company said it expects the layoffs to be temporary, but “we cannot guarantee how our business will be impacted by the continued pandemics and effects it has had on the aerospace industry.”
According to the company website, Integrity supplies parts to Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation and Pratt & Whitney.
