The operations director of Terre Haute International Airport-Hulman Field says activity is on the rise. Kara McIntosh says the 72 percent jump can be attributed to factors including use by Indiana State University’s Flight Academy and more corporate business.
Operations have increased each year from more than 27,000 in 2013 to nearly 50,000 in 2014 to over 65,000 last year.
McIntosh tells the Tribune Star pilots making fuel stops outside of Indianapolis International Airport will use Terre Haute. She says Duke Energy, Casey’s General Store, Furniture Row, Great Dane and the Bureau of Federal Prisons regularly using the airport.
Fuel sales have also jumped nearly one-quarter year-over-year.
