Velocity Indiana is looking for companies to take part in an accelerator program focusing on the food and beverage industry. The Jeffersonville-based entrepreneurial leadership organization wants to work with businesses ranging from ingredient manufacturers to food safety and delivery companies. Managing Director Tony Schy says the program is designed to play to the region's strengths and target a sector that is underserved by most accelerators. Accepted companies will receive $15,000 in capital, as well as office space and mentoring services.

Jeffersonville, Ind. — IN: Velocity Indiana has opened the application process for its Winter 2015 business accelerator program and will be accepting applications through Friday, October 31, 2014. While the last three cohorts participated in Velocity's general accelerator program, the focus of the upcoming 100-day accelerator program will be on Food and Beverage companies. All startups related to the Food & Beverage industry are welcome to apply to be one of the teams accepted into the program.

“We're excited to take what we've learned from the last three cohorts and apply that knowledge to startups in the Food & Beverage industry to play on the strengths of our region,” said Tony Schy, Managing Director of Velocity Indiana. “We have the potential to become the premier location for Food & Beverage startups.”

Accepted Companies Will Receive:

● Intense instruction and accountability

● Introductions to and advice from a vast mentor network of industry veterans

● Introductions to potential clients, partners and investors

● At least $15,000 in investment capital

● Office space with all you can drink gourmet coffee and craft beer

What Velocity Gets:

● At least a 4.5% equity stake in accepted companies
