INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Academy of Science is proud to present the 129th Annual Academy Meeting. The 129TH Annual Academy Meeting will offer over 150 science research presentations, workshops and hot topics, and will host 400 Indiana scientists from industry and academia, science educators, and graduate and undergraduate science students. The 129th Annual Academy Meeting marks nearly 129 years of science by a non-profit professional organization that continues to be an important voice of Indiana science since its inception in 1885. This Annual Meeting is unique in that it is multi-disciplinary, inclusive of the scholarly work of industry and academic scientists that work in fields ranging from astronomy, to microbiology, to environmental science, to science education, to physics and more. The 129th Annual Academy Meeting will include the most up to date research, 'hot topics,’ and information and skill building workshops.
2014 speakers include over 150 Indiana scientists and aspiring scientists, and world class guest speakers: Dow AgroSciences Dr. Jim Bing ‘The New Hoosier Farmer: Makes Corn in a Laboratory’; Dr. Johannah Barry, Founder and President of the Galapagos Conservancy who will talk about ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful: Saving Galapagos in the 21st Century’; Dr. Paul Rothrock, Author of the widely acclaimed Sedges of Indiana; Dr. Dale Edwards, Academy President and Author of the newly released Mites of Freshwater Mollusks; Genetic Educator Dr. Sam Rhine who will present ‘From Skin to Stem: Recent Advances in Stem Cell Technology’ and more. Several of Indiana’s future scientists from Indiana’s public schools have also been invited.

The Indiana Academy of Science continues to enjoy a high professional stature with a membership that includes many of the states’ premier scientists and science educators.
