Mishawaka-based Lighthouse Autism Center, a provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, is expanding in Indiana with two new centers opening in Hobart and La Porte.
Set to open this spring, the new locations will offer ABA therapy, speech therapy, autism diagnostic testing, parent support and pre-academic learning programs.
“We are so excited to bring Lighthouse Autism Center to Hobart and La Porte. Expanding our presence in Indiana allows us to support more families and children on their autism journey,” Lighthouse Autism Center Director of Special Programs and Expansion Operations Traci Meador said. “Our mission to provide compassionate, individualized care continues to drive every step we take in expanding our services.”
Lighthouse currently has over 1,000 employees across all its centers in the U.S. The new center in La Porte will accommodate 21 families and create 32 jobs, while the Hobart location will have the capacity to support 25 families and add 35 jobs.
The company is hosting an open house in La Porte on Feb. 17 from 2-6 p.m. at 2910 Monroe Street.
Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the U.S. with approximately 1 in 36 children diagnosed. Lighthouse delivers ABA therapy in a natural, play-based environment enabling kids to explore interests and learn through engaging activities, the company said.
The company has a network of centers across multiple states, including Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and North Carolina.
