AAA Hoosier Motor Club says gas prices in the state are the lowest they’ve been since April. The nonprofit is reporting regular unleaded gas is averaging $2.59 per gallon, a $.30 dip since last month. AAA says the price throughout the country has gone down over the last month to $2.75 on average. Last year at this time, prices in Indiana averaged around $2.75 per gallon.
AAA Hoosier Motor Club Public Affairs Manager Greg Seiter says "gasoline is becoming less expensive to produce and sell, thanks to lower crude prices and cheaper-to-produce winter blend fuel. Retail prices haven’t quite caught up with declines on the wholesale side so it’s possible that gas prices might fall back a little more before stabilizing."
Gas price averages in the state, AAA says, have decreased for 13 straight days. The last time the average price in Indiana was this low was April 5 when the price was about $2.59 per gallon.
