Indiana rehab centers named in Newsweek rankings

Eight Indiana facilities are being recognized in Newsweek’s annual ranking of America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers.
Newsweek examined 360 of the country’s rehabilitation centers and ranked them based on Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration accreditation data and an online survey canvassing 4,000 medical professionals in the addiction treatment industry. This produced a quality score the centers were ranked using.
The honored centers and their scores are:
- Community Fairbanks Recovery Center, Indianapolis – 87.98%
- Indiana Center for Recovery LLC, Bloomington – 86.83%
- Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis – 86.56%
- Wooded Glen Recovery Center, Henryville – 84.99%
- Addiction Rehab Centers, Indianapolis – 84.9%
- Amethyst House Inc., Bloomington – 84.57%
- Landmark Recovery-Praxis of Carmel – 83.29%
- Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare-Stepping Forward for Women, Evansville – 83.21%
“At Wooded Glen, we are passionate about providing exceptional substance use disorder care to our clients,” Alice Maynor, CEO of Wooden Glen Recovery Center, said in a news release. “We couldn’t be prouder of earning this well-deserved distinction because it affirms our life’s work. We are here to save and improve lives every day.”
Though included on the list, Praxis Landmark Recovery has had its licenses for all three Indiana facilities revoked, including the Carmel center, after recent deaths and calls from police regarding concerns with the Mishawaka location. The company is fighting the decision and denies the allegations.
Nationally, Community Fairbanks Recovery Center was within the top 20. The highest score was the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City, Minnesota, with 93.18%.
