Since taking over the company last year, Lily and Kurt Sendek say they have invested around $400,000 in equipment upgrades and added a second shift.
The company recently received a tax abatement from the city of Bloomington based on its plans to add more than 30 employees. Kurt Sendek says they have already added 10 full-time positions.
Lily Sendek says the company is implementing improvements to better assist its customers. She says they are upgrading key equipment to make manufacturing more efficient.
"3D Stone’s new mission is rooted in making our customers successful," said Sendek. "We’ve commissioned a software developer to design a computer system tracking every part from the design phase to shipment to the customer’s site. This software will provide realistic, accurate, and up-to date status, enabling our project team to achieve on-time delivery much more consistently and accurately than ever before."
Sendek says these improvements will help the Indiana limestone industry as a whole. The company has also applied for certification as a woman-owned business, which it says will bring purchasing advantages.
3D Stone was established in 1992 and employs around 50 people in its Bloomington facility.
