1si Names ONE Award Finalists

The chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Clark and Floyd counties says this year’s event will feature a new category and a twist on an old one.
A panel of judges selected the finalists based on criteria such as business history, community involvement, response to adversity, newly-created opportunities and innovation in products or services. Online voting will begin March 14 at noon on the 1si website and Facebook page.
"We were happy to see a surge in nominations this year, and all of our finalists are of the highest caliber," said Wendy Dant Chesser, chief executive officer of 1si. "Our judges rate the finalists and that counts for 90 percent of the final score. But our members have their voices heard through online voting, counting for 10 percent of the total score – which has actually changed the outcome of past award competitions. The ONE Awards is one of our most popular events and we want our membership to have a stake in the winners."

The awards ceremony will also feature the winner of the Economic Development Impact Project of the Year ONE Award, given to the company with the largest impact on the community, as well as the Business Retention and Expansion Project of the Year ONE Award, given to the business with the largest growth in terms of investment and job creation.
The awards will be presented at the ceremony on April 12 at Huber’s Orchard, Winery and Vineyard’s Plantation Hall in Borden.
