The $135 million second phase of the CityWay development from Indianapolis-based Buckingham Companies is slated to be complete next year. It includes a 13-story tower that was started in July, plus a pair of five-story buildings and three four-story buildings that are now under construction near the Eli Lilly and Co. campus.
Plans for the second phase also include a 13,000-square-foot pharmacy and 20,000 square-feet of office space that will be anchored by Franciscan Health Systems.
The inaugural phase of CityWay opened in 2013 and is a signature piece of the growth in the city’s southeast downtown corridor. When complete, it will consist of a total of 650 apartments and more than 100,000 square-feet of commercial space.
Buckingham Vice President of Development Ryan Gallmeyer says "the vision of this project has helped reshape the perception of downtown living, and we’re excited for this next phase of CityWay to play an even larger role in providing desirable options for those who live, work and play downtown."
CityWay is located across from the Irsay Family YMCA and the next phase will include amenities such as a landscaped courtyard, pool, outdoor kitchen, outdoor movie lawn, dog park and bike storage.
