Indianapolis-based BSA Life Structures, a nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm, has promoted Sam Jackson to chief operating officer. In this role, he will continue to develop BSA’s national expertise and growth, creating an enhanced experience for our valued clients.

Jackson joined the firm in 1998 as a graduate electrical engineer and has held various roles including principal and regional director of the Indianapolis studio. In 2016, he was elected to the BSA Board of Directors where he has brought inventive ideas and unique perspectives. In 2017, Jackson was promoted to director of engineering. His vision for growing and strengthening the engineering team has advanced BSA in expertise and knowledge.

He served as engineering project lead for Sidney and Louis Eskenazi Hospital, a 1.3-million-sq.-ft. hospital and health campus. The 37-acre campus, which is one of the world’s largest LEED Gold healthcare campuses, includes a 315-bed hospital, 100-bed emergency department, 275-room outpatient center and a faculty office building. BSA was the Engineer of Record for the Hospital and Care Center and provided BSA’s full range of services including engineering, architecture, interior design and planning on the Fifth Third Faculty Office Building.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and an MBA from Indiana University. He is a licensed professional engineer in 27 states, NCEES Recordholder, LEED Accredited Professional and Purdue University Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified.
