Trine University has hired Michael Black as its new director of housing operations. He brings more than a decade of experience in university housing at his alma mater, Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas – where he served in multiple roles including director of residential life and at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, where he was student and family apartment manager.

He also served as dean of student services at Northwest State Community College in Archbold, Ohio, and, most recently, as lead academic advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences at Purdue Fort Wayne.

Black holds a Bachelor of Science in sociology and a Master of Science in counselor education from Emporia State University, and an Ed.D. in leadership and change management from the University of Southern California.
