American Pianists Association Names New CEO

Subscribe NowThe Indianapolis-based American Pianists Association has selected Peter Mraz as its next president and chief executive officer. Mraz most recently served as associate vice president of the Arts Consulting Group in Chicago.
Mraz has previously served as project manager for the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the London Symphony Orchestra, where he oversaw the development of live internet streams and outdoor concerts, as well as strategic planning for a $350 million concert hall.
“Peter’s wealth of experiences is incredibly impressive. With his international reach and connections, his creative and innovative ways of reaching new audiences and supporters, and his international public policy knowledge, he is a 21st century Renaissance man,” said Jean Richcreek, board chair for the APA. “Peter, too, is a gifted pianist and passionate about the success of musical institutions. We are thrilled that he is joining American Pianists Association as our President and CEO.”
Mraz graduated as valedictorian from the Košice Conservatory of Music in his native Slovakia and also earned a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University.
Mraz succeeds Dr. Joel Harrison, who will remain as a consultant to assist Mraz with the transition. He will begin his new role on August 1.
