The Noble County Economic Development Corp. says it will distribute nearly $200,000 in small business grants to provide quick access to working capital to for-profit businesses that employ up to 50 workers.
The NCEDC says eligibility will be based on a business’ ability to document a significant revenue or income loss due to COVID-19 or related stay-at-home orders, where funding will be used to help keep employees and add jobs, and enhance long-term sustainability.
The organization says it administered nearly $95,000 to 45 small businesses, with the first round targeting business’ employing up to 25 people. The grant program is being made possible due to an agreement between Noble County and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs with funding from a Community Development Block Grant.
“The opportunity for the EDC to work with the county and OCRA to deliver financial assistance to keep our small businesses thriving is critical. We hope this program will help more locally owned small businesses expand their digital presence and make other improvements to enhance sustainability,” said EDC Director Gary Gatman.
