Hoosier Unemployment Outlook Improves in August

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state’s labor force had a net increase of nearly 42,000 jobs, most of which were in the private sector.
The DWD says the increase is primarily due to gains in the trade, transportation and utilities sectors, but there were also gains in private education and health services industries.
The state’s unemployment is lower than the national rate which sits at 8.4%. In the Midwest, only Wisconsin has a lower unemployment rate than Indiana, sitting at 6.2%
