Several Indiana schools are included on the “Best U.S. High Schools” list from U.S. News & World Report. The publication ranked the schools based on several factors, including college readiness, college curriculum breadth, and math and reading proficiency.

The other factors figured into the rankings include math and reading performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rates. U.S. News used data from the 2017-2018 academic year to calculate the rankings.

The Signature School in Evansville is the only Hoosier school to be included in the top 100. The remainder of the top 10 Indiana schools, with their national rankings, include:

• Indiana Academy for Science, Math and Humanities – Muncie (151)
• Herron High School – Indianapolis (218)
• West Lafayette Jr./Sr. High School (284)
• Burris Laboratory School – Muncie (355)
• Carmel High School (369)
• Zionsville Community High School (529)
• Munster High School (621)
• Westfield High School (639)
• Shortridge High School – Indianapolis (736)
