Blood Drive Aims to Address Supply Shortage

Subscribe NowThe American Red Cross in Indianapolis is looking to address what it says is an urgent need for blood donations. The organization is today hosting a blood drive at its regional headquarters in downtown Indianapolis.
On Monday, Governor Eric Holcomb released additional directives related to the new coronavirus pandemic. The governor encouraged individuals who were able to visit their local blood centers to donate blood due to the shortage.
The blood drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Red Cross headquarters, located at 1510 North Meridian Street in downtown Indy. A spokesperson for the organization says they have a set goal of 50 units of blood.
