Hondros College of Nursing Chief Executive Officer Harry Wilkins has appointed Brenda Helvie to serve as campus dean/director of nursing for the Indianapolis campus.
Helvie most recently served Ivy Tech Community College as assistant department chair.
According to officials, the state of Indiana is facing a nursing shortage and the new campus is a move to help ease that burden.
“As the need for new nurses continues nationwide and in Indiana, we are excited to bring Hondros College of Nursing to Indianapolis,” said Wilkins. “We are proud of our accomplishments in Ohio, and we will bring this same focus on success to the Indianapolis region.”
Hondros also has campuses in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton and Toledo, Ohio.
Nursing students can begin taking classes this spring when the quarter begins April 6.
