Governor Eric Holcomb he has named Stephen Cox to serve as Indiana state fire marshal. He replaces Jim Greeson who retired in September. Cox has served with the South Bend Fire Department for 26 years, including 12 years in executive leadership. He served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Cox earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and has also earned numerous FEMA certifications related to the National Incident Management System.
