Carmel-based CNO Financial has named Karen DeToro chief actuary. She previously served at New York Life where she held executive leadership positions in finance operations, product development, underwriting, strategy, and governance, including serving as vice president and chief actuary of New York Life Direct.  DeToro earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and English literature from Butler University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance, managerial economics, strategy, and organizational behavior from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
