An organization created in northwest Indiana to help grow and train new leaders is undergoing major changes as it refocuses its mission. The Leadership Institute is now an official center within Purdue Northwest. The organization was previously known as the South Shore Leadership Center and was run as a non-profit organization.

The center’s mission is to train emerging leaders to become stronger advocates for their communities in the seven counties of northwest Indiana.

The institute says the switch allowed for stronger programming and a more robust curriculum.
