Council Unveils Study Committee Topics

Subscribe NowThe Indiana General Assembly’s Legislative Council has assigned topics to be discussed in study committees this year. The topics that will be studied this summer and fall range from the effect of property tax referenda on teacher pay to taxation of CBD oil and vaping products, criteria for the formation of regional development authorities and adoption subsidies.
This year’s Legislative Council is being chaired by Senate President Pro Tempore Rod Bray (R-Martinsville), with House Speaker Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis) serving as vice chair.
"Study committees provide an important opportunity for lawmakers to examine complicated issues in depth without the same time restrictions we face during a legislative session," Bray said in a news release. "As such, they serve an important role in helping us prepare for the next session. We have collaborated to identify a number of important topics for study, and I look forward to productive conversations between lawmakers, Hoosiers and stakeholders as we take a hard look at these issues in the coming months."
House and Senate leaders will assign members to each study committee in the coming weeks. You can view the list of committees and topics to be studied below:
