The medical chemistry professor holds 31 U.S. patents and eight foreign patents licensed to three companies. He was named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the world’s largest general scientific society, in 2012. Cushman holds degrees from the University of California Medical Center and MIT.
