The college says the Center of Excellence Laboratory space will provide students with real-world, hands-on learning opportunities.
The 26,000-square-foot facility will also serve as the home of Ivy Tech’s Diesel Heavy Truck Technology program. It will house all of the large equipment for both programs.
Ivy Tech last year received an Economic Development Administration grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to establish the center. The application for the grant was supported by Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN), who toured the facility Tuesday with Ivy Tech officials.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will feature remarks from Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann and Ivy Tech Terre Haute Chancellor Lea Anne Crooks.
